Putin visited the Fencing Center in Ufa: video
Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Ufa on Thursday, October 17. The head of state visited the Republican Center for Sports Training in Fencing.
According to the Kremlin press service, this is a modern sports complex with the latest technological capabilities for training and competitions of various levels. The center occupies an area of more than 6,000 square meters and can accommodate 250 people at a time.
President Vladimir Putin stressed that creating sufficient opportunities for sports is the top priority for Russian authorities. Over the past 10 years, more than 1 trillion rubles have been invested in the construction of accessible sports facilities throughout the Russian Federation.
On October 17, the International Forum "Russia - a Sports Power" started in Ufa. The head of Bashkiria, Radiy Khabirov, noted that delegations from more than 100 countries were expected to arrive. Thousands of guests came, including famous athletes.
Earlier, President Vladimir Putin agreed to form a presidential commission for sports development. In particular, they included the president of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (RFSF), Olympic champion Anton Sikharulidze.
