Russia to Raise Minimum Wage
The State Duma has adopted in the first reading a bill on increasing the minimum wage (MW). According to the new amendments, from 2025 the amount will be set at 22,440 rubles.
"The State Duma adopted in the first reading a bill establishing the minimum wage at 22,440 rubles from 2025," the Duma website says. The initiative was presented at a plenary session.
Earlier, the Russian government proposed to start calculating the subsistence minimum in a new way from 2026. The authorities talked about increasing the scale. There was also news that the minimum wage would be indexed from 2025. It is currently set at 17,733 rubles.
