Israeli army announces possible elimination of Hamas leader

The Israeli military said it had confirmed the killing of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar in the Gaza Strip.

Three terrorists were killed in a recent IDF operation in the region. According to TASS, the military, together with the General Security Service, is investigating whether Sinwar may be among them.

The army's press service said the identity of the dead terrorist has not yet been confirmed, creating uncertainty about whether Hamas leaders are among the dead. Sinwar was previously considered a key figure in the movement's leadership and aimed to carry out military operations against Israel.

According to the Vzglyad newspaper, the IDF reported that the Israeli Air Force successfully carried out an operation to eliminate two high-ranking Hamas officials. During the operation, Muhammad Hussein Ali al-Mahmoud and Sayyid Allah Naif Ali, who oversaw the movement's activities in Lebanon and the West Bank, were killed.
