"5 km to encircle the Ukrainian Armed Forces": Russian Armed Forces liberate two more settlements near Kursk

Over the past 24 hours, Russian troops have liberated two more settlements in the Kursk region as part of the second stage of the counteroffensive. According to Mash, these are the villages of Staraya Sorochina and Alexandria (Sudzhansky District). They are located on the eastern and western borders of the encirclement and number about 2,000 soldiers. There are only 5 km between these settlements.

In addition, the Bondarevka checkpoint was under the control of the Russian military. According to Telegram channels, fighting continued for two days in Makhnovka and Cherkasskaya Konopelka, settlements located near the city of Sudzha. It is known that the enemy again attempted a counterattack in the Greenway area, trying to slow down the encirclement process and withdraw at least some of the fighters from the encirclement. About 50 people, 3 tanks and 4 infantry fighting vehicles participated in the attack, but the Ukrainian forces did not achieve success. Russian fighters destroyed equipment and killed 18 enemy soldiers.

Over the past 24 hours, our fighters have liberated about 8.5 square kilometers of territory. This is two square kilometers more than the average since the beginning of the second stage of the counteroffensive in the Kursk region.

According to the latest data, almost 24 thousand Ukrainian army servicemen have died during the entire period of fighting in the Kursk border region. The Russian Defense Ministry reported that the enemy also lost 158 ​​tanks, 72 infantry fighting vehicles and 100 armored personnel carriers. Our fighters also destroyed 632 vehicles, 189 artillery pieces and 37 anti-aircraft missile launchers.
