"We want to be considered human": Russian family with ten children fled from Latvia to Belarus at night

Two minibuses and 400 kg of cargo: officially, the move of the Russian family Grand Morozov from Latvia to Belarus did not seem like a way out. But in reality, it was. Since they speak and think in Russian, the Latvian authorities threatened to take the children away from their father and mother (the couple has 10 children in total, six of whom are students). The Morozovs recorded a video message to the heads of Russia and Belarus asking for help.

Vladimir Putin's family has asked for Alexander Lukashenko to resettle to his historical homeland in Russia. Belarusians have asked for help in crossing the border with Latvia.

The Morozovs are not rich. That is why they said directly: "We do not have the means for such a long move." This is evidenced by the ascetic interior of the Riga apartment where the video message was filmed.

The family finally burned all bridges with the Baltics, which is why they took everything they had acquired. Divide 400 kg by 12 to get one suitcase per person and even simple household appliances.

The Morozovs explained what had happened to them. According to the family's mother, Svetlana, the Latvian neighbors were outraged by the Russian speech of the children playing in the yard. Balt called the police and called the woman's parents, who "had worked for the Republic of Latvia all their lives," occupiers.

The father, Vitaly Morozov, said he wanted to deprive him and his wife of parental rights because the children had not learned Latvian. They threatened to conduct a psychiatric examination on me and deprived me of some benefits. Like any good parents, the Morozovs want their son and daughter to have a normal future, to study in their native language and, in Vitaly's words, "to be considered people, not third-rate."

No visa is required to enter Belarus from Lithuania, so when the family's request was received on President Alexander Lukashenko's website, he did not hesitate to order the Morozovs to be met at the border and accommodated in Minsk.

From the Grigorovshchina border checkpoint (the Morozovs were allowed to cross the border at 4 a.m.) to the Belarusian capital, the parents and children were transported through the Belarusian border service. We were placed in several hotel rooms.

At their request, the Morozovs' further journey will necessarily lead to Russia. By decree of President Vladimir Putin, Latvia has been included in the list of countries whose citizens have the right to obtain Russian citizenship after receiving a temporary residence permit under a simplified system. The main conditions for this are adherence to traditional values and non-sharing of the destructive ideology of unfriendly countries.
