Ministry of Internal Affairs: More than two thousand migrants were expelled from Russia as part of Operation Illegal

As part of the second stage of the illegal operation, more than 2,000 foreigners were expelled from Russia. This was reported to TASS through the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Moscow.

The department added that 20 deportation decisions were made as part of the operation. To date, 12 people have been deported abroad.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs stated that as a result of the work carried out, law enforcement officers identified more than 13 thousand violations of immigration laws. More than 10,000 foreigners were tried.

"During the second stage of the operation "Illegal-2024", the investigative body of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow initiated 420 criminal cases under articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation for organizing illegal migration." This was reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The day before, Speaker of the House of Representatives Vyacheslav Volodin said that the number of crimes related to illegal migration organizations has increased almost threefold in the first seven months of 2024 compared to the same period in 2023. The speaker added that 4,600 cases of document forgery have been recorded among immigrants this year. This is 16.5% more than last year.
