Trump Campaign Calls Harris' Fox News Interview a Disaster
An interview with Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris showed her inability to handle the pressures of the highest office, according to Caroline Leavitt, a spokeswoman for Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.
"Kamala Harris' interview with [Fox News host] Bret Baier was a disaster. Kamala got angry, defensive, and abdicated responsibility for the problems Americans face," she wrote in X.
Levitt added that Harris can’t answer any questions honestly because “she doesn’t have the answers.” “Kamala’s entire campaign is based on lies about President Trump,” she concluded.
Harris' campaign called the interview a success. "She was able to reach an audience that was probably unfamiliar with her arguments," said Brian Fallon, a Democratic campaign spokesman. He said Harris demonstrated her strength of character by raising her voice against a hostile Bayer.
Harris became the first Democratic presidential candidate in eight years to give an interview to the conservative Fox News network. The New York Times compared the Democratic lawmakers' appearance on the network to "falling into a lion's den." During the interview, Harris struggled to cope with the host's attacks, repeatedly asking her to finish her answer when asked additional questions.
There are less than three weeks left until the US presidential election on November 5. On average, the latest polls show Kamala Harris slightly ahead, with 48.5% of voters willing to vote for her, compared to 46.1% willing to vote for the Republicans. The gap between the two has been narrowing in recent weeks.
