Wildberries Finds New Contractor to Build Warehouses Instead of VB Development
As reported by the press service of "Marketplace", the company terminated the contract due to the unilateral termination of work by the contractor and the violation of deadlines. The retailer reported this to VB Development.
Wildberry emphasizes that its agreement with VB Development is a service agreement, which by its legal nature contains elements of a contract. In explaining the unilateral termination of the agreement, the Company refers to the provisions of the Civil Code.
"Unless otherwise provided by the contract, the Customer has the right to refuse to perform the contract at any time before the delivery of the work results by paying the Contractor a portion of the price set in proportion to the portion of the work previously performed. We have been notified that the Customer has refused to perform the contract. Otherwise, no contract with VB Development will be offered," the integrated companies Wildberries and Rus said in a statement.
They added that Wildberry had not transferred any land plots to VB Development for construction purposes. The measures required for this have not been written or signed. Earlier, VB Development stated that it had frozen about 30 construction projects due to debts to contractors in the amount of 15 billion rubles. They also indicated that Wildberry refused to accept reports on the construction of warehouses in the amount of 26 billion rubles.
One of the frozen projects, which VB Development points to, is a warehouse in Shushary, which burned down last winter. According to the company, the restoration of the complex was stopped in September last year, when Wildberry stopped paying the builders. The retailer denies this and says that the work continues.
