Russia revokes citizenship of migrants who failed to register for military service

The two men were stripped of their Russian citizenship for failing to comply with their military registration obligations. Their citizenship was revoked and the draft dodgers were ordered to leave the country.

"Colleagues from the Migration Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Moscow have decided to terminate the citizenship of two men who failed to fulfill their obligations for military registration... As part of the decision taken, the violators were notified personally. This was reported on her Telegram channel by the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia Irina Volk.

According to her, men who received Russian citizenship did not enlist in the military for two weeks from the moment of naturalization, as stipulated by the federal law "Military Service and Military Service."

Volk emphasized that work continues with the Moscow Military Committee to identify naturalized citizens who have violated military service laws.

According to the Vzglyad newspaper, during the raid in Domodedovo, more than 280 foreigners and 25 illegal immigrants who had received Russian citizenship but were not registered with the military were discovered.

In addition, more than 150 people who committed similar violations were handed over to the military commissars of the Sennoy Market and Apraksin Dvor in St. Petersburg.

The Ministry of the Interior reminded that naturalized foreigners who are not registered in accordance with the revised "Law on Military Duty and Military Service" may be deprived of citizenship.
