A special forces colonel was shot in the Moscow region. The deceased officer returned from the SVO a week ago

In the area of the village of Melenki (Solnechnogorsk district of the Moscow region), unknown persons shot Nikita (last name currently unknown), a 44-year-old colonel of the army special forces and deputy head of one of the military units. After that, he left the scene of the crime.

According to the Mash Telegram channel, preliminary data show that on the morning of October 16, the killer was waiting for the colonel at the entrance to the village of Melenki. As soon as he saw the officer's car, he opened fire from a 9-mm pistol, with the gunman firing at least eight bullets, fatally wounding the soldier.

Law enforcement agencies reported that the soldier's murder was planned in advance and was essentially a contract killing. TASS reported this. The agency's source noted that the killer could have been monitoring the officers' movements.

According to preliminary data, the killer was driving a car. As Mash points out, this is evidenced by the fact that there is a bullet hole in the driver's door glass and that when the bullet hit the car, it was moving along a dirt road. After filming, it continued moving until it crashed into the fence of a house.

Telegram channel 112 reported that the shooter may have been driving a gray 2012 Mitsubishi Outlander. He is currently wanted. To find him, the police developed a plan to "wiretap telephone conversations." However, later there was information that the criminal could have gone through the forest and reached the village of Melenki.

According to TASS, the murdered colonel returned from the special military operations area (SVO) a week ago. The regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case into his execution.

Investigators and forensic experts are working at the crime scene, checking the victim’s car, and questioning witnesses.
