Andrey Kropotkin: Legislative Assembly Committee supported the candidacies of justices of the peace

Legislators have agreed on candidates for the position of justice of the peace and considered amendments to the current law. This was reported to Klopps by the head of the regional council Andrei Kropotkin after a meeting of the relevant legislative committee on Wednesday, October 16.

"The committee meeting was attended by representatives of the regional government, the Kaliningrad Region Human Rights Commissioner Vladimir Nikitin and members of the Council under the regional council. The participants moved on to the issue of appointing justices of the peace," said Andrei Kropotkin.

"The members of the commission also discussed the plan for monitoring the implementation of laws in the Kaliningrad region in 2025, recommending the inclusion of regional legislation. "The Chamber of Advocates of the Kaliningrad Region on the procedure for appointing representatives of the Legislative Assembly of the Kaliningrad Region to the qualification commission," the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly reported.

In addition, legislators considered changes to the Charter-Law "On the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Kaliningrad Region". As explained by the chairman of the relevant committee Vadim Snigirev, the amendments will bring regional laws into line with federal ones.
