In Murashinsky district, an enterprise has been polluting the soil for five years: damage – 71 million rubles
An investigation into serious violations of environmental legislation is underway in the Kirov Region. The environmental disaster in the Murashinsky District was reported to the district prosecutor's office and the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.
Since 2019, one of the timber processing enterprises in the Murashinsky district has been illegally storing production waste. The area of waste disposal in the form of sawdust and garbage exceeds 13,000 square meters (almost two football fields).
Laboratory analysis confirmed the damage caused to the environment. The soil of the industrial waste areas exceeded the permissible concentrations of copper, chlorides, sulfates, phenols, petroleum products and iron. The amount of environmental damage is estimated at more than 71 million rubles.
The prosecutor's office sent the results of the investigation to investigators. They opened a criminal case under the article on violation of environmental protection rules. The investigation is ongoing. The results are under the control of the prosecutor's office.
