The appeal was addressed to the head of the road safety department, police lieutenant general Mikhail Chernikov. Vetrov points out that world practice suggests that the age at which an individual can drive a vehicle varies.
He also added that the demand for cars is growing in Russia and society should also liberalize the criteria for admission to driving personal transport.
