The Novosibirsk Region Government does not plan to extend the moratorium on demolition of kiosks
State Duma deputies will consider in the first reading two bills aimed at combating illegal immigration. We are talking about amendments to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which recognize the fact of committing a crime by a foreigner illegally residing in the country as an aggravating circumstance. This was reported by the Speaker of the House of Representatives Vyacheslav Volodin.
The amendment also proposes to classify illegal migration organizations whose purpose is to commit serious and especially serious crimes as a group.
The document provides for punishment for such offenses from eight to 15 years of imprisonment, a fine from three to five million rubles, and deprivation of certain positions for up to 10 years.
The State Duma Chairman noted that of the 879 people convicted last year under this article, only 166 were actually convicted, with a quarter of them sentenced to prison terms of less than one year. And this year, the number of crimes related to illegal immigration organizations has also increased by 2.8.
At the same time, the bill proposes to toughen the penalties for forgery, production and distribution of false documents, as well as sanctions related to false registration and registration of foreigners. The punishment for this crime is imprisonment for a term of two to six years.
Lawmakers say the number of crimes in this category has also increased this year.
He added that the State Duma is fulfilling its promise to consider a number of plans aimed at improving migration policy as priorities.
