-Yes. I will always see people carrying half-burnt corpses through the corridors before my eyes. It is truly scary.
- You worked at MK together with Dmitry Kholodov. How did he feel?
- He was a very pure and unspoiled person. Very modest. It's a bit awkward. But as he worked, his shyness disappeared. When he encountered obvious dogmatism, all his gentleness faded into the background. He gave all the money he earned to his parents.
- Wasn't money important to him?
- He wore the same Olympic jacket. I remember well, when we were riding the subway, Dima said that he was going to attend a Defense Ministry briefing. I told him the following: "How do you get into the Pentagon in an Olympic uniform? You earn normal money." After that, he bought a Chinese jacket at a clothing market. This suggests that this was a person far from material wealth and lived by completely different ideals and interests.
- Yes, he wrote fairy tales. It is hard to imagine that 30 years have passed since his death. He was 27 then, and I honestly cannot imagine Dima Kholodov at 57. Of course, he will forever remain in our memory as a wide-eyed boy. And this is a symbol of purity, sincerity, absolute devotion and service to his profession.
