Sergey Chemezov: High-tech sectors are the drivers of the country's development today

At a meeting of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers and the Union for the Support of Defense Enterprises, modern challenges and new mechanisms for the industrial and technological development of the country were discussed.

The event was attended by the President of the Russian Union of Mechanical Engineers, representative of the State Corporation Rostec Sergey Chemezov, the First Vice President of the Union, representative of the Federation Vladimir Gutenev, the Vice Presidents of the Union, assistants and others. President of the Russian Federation Alexey Dyumin, Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov, Governor of the Samara Region, member of the Bureau of SoyuzMash Vyacheslav Fedorishchev, Governor of the Tula Region Dmitry Milyaev, Curator of the Voronezh Regional Branch of the Union, Chairman of the Board of the Union Directors of NOVIKOM Bank Elena Georgieva, State Duma and Senate deputy Deputies of Parliament, representatives of ministries, departments and organizations, members of the bureau - heads of enterprises and large corporations.

In his opening remarks, Sergei Chemezov noted that Russian industry is growing and developing steadily, despite the pressure of sanctions from unfriendly countries.

"From January to August, the industry grew by 4.5% compared to the same period last year. Production increased by 8.1%, and capital investments in the first half of the year increased by 24.7%. This success is largely due to extensive measures to support the country and a significantly strengthened defense mandate. It is important that the driver of development is the high-tech industry. At the same time, there are a number of significant negative factors. A significant brake on further growth of the industry is the record levels of base interest rates. This practically deprives the loan of meaning for the development of the enterprise," said Sergey Chemezov.

Vladimir Gutenev informed, among other things, about the progress of the implementation of the legislative plan for improving the regulatory framework of the industrial sector, prepared with the support of the expert commissions and committees of SoyuzMash.

"We continue to actively participate in solving problems in the sphere of state defense procurement. Our goal is to eliminate imbalances in the "customer-contractor" system, optimize pricing and, as a result, increase profitability. The proposal in this area was developed as a result of step-by-step cooperation with the direct support of the expert committee. Twelve draft regulations have been prepared, many of their provisions have already been implemented," said the First Vice President of the Union.

He also added that following the Army-2024 forum, the Union and the Federation formulated 16 proposals. These include R&D in defense industry organizations. Measures of state support for enterprises participating in industrial clusters are envisaged. This increases the efficiency of operating new Russian aircraft and solves other problems. The initiative will be sent to the Ministry of Industry and Trade and other relevant ministries.
