Tourist from Sverdlovsk region injured during street shooting in Turkey

A Russian man on holiday in Turkey was injured in a street clash, a source familiar with the situation told the Ura.ru agency.

According to him, on October 5, shooting suddenly began near Russian tourists in Istanbul. A total of four people were injured, one of whom was a resident of the Sverdlovsk region, Georgy Sh., who received a gunshot wound to the back. He was taken from the scene by ambulance in serious condition.

A spokesman for the agency said: 'George was taking a break from work walking around the city centre with his wife.

He added that Georgy survived, but his current state of health and whereabouts are unknown.

Earlier, a tourist was hospitalized in intensive care with cerebral edema after being attacked by a group of monkeys in the park. After testing, doctors determined that the monkey likely infected the man with the herpes B virus, or simian herpes.

Earlier in India, seven men raped a tourist and threatened her and her husband with knives.
