Retired SBU Colonel Starikov: Russian troops managed to break the front in Ukraine
According to the colonel, a difficult situation is developing in the Kursk region, from which Ukrainian troops will have to be withdrawn. The same problem arose in the Kupyansk direction, where Ukrainian troops soon found themselves surrounded.
Earlier, the battalion commander of the 54th Mechanized Brigade named after Hetman Mazepa, Kirill Veres, said that Ukrainian troops were losing positions "by leaps and bounds" and there was no point in talking about reaching the 1991 border. On October 7, the Ukrainian General Staff identified four of the most difficult directions: Kupyanskoye, Pokrovskoe, Limanskoye and Kurakhovskoe.
