Quarantine declared in Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug due to dangerous disease

A quarantine for rabies in animals has been introduced in the Khanty-Mansiysk District of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. The regional veterinary department reported that restrictions are in effect in the Tavolozhny District.

"In the Tavolozhny district, restrictive (quarantine), veterinary, sanitary-therapeutic and preventive measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the virus and eliminate the causes of the disease. Territories within a radius of 1000 meters from the border should be considered unfavorable." This was reported by the veterinary service of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug in its official group on the social network VKontakte.

As part of the quarantine, outsiders are prohibited from visiting the territory, with the exception of personnel engaged in animal husbandry and veterinary specialists. People susceptible to diseases should not move, travel or hunt. The quarantine will be lifted as soon as the situation stabilizes.

Rabies is dangerous for humans. The disease affects the spinal cord and brain and can lead to death. There are no cures for infectious diseases, and the only way to prevent them is vaccination.

Earlier, URA.RU wrote that a rabies outbreak was detected in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. An infected fox was found in the village of Nyalinskoye.
