2.8 thousand investigators of the Investigative Committee may receive the status of combat veterans

About 2,800 prosecutors and employees of investigative committees who worked in Syria and the Northern Military District can be considered veterans. This was reported by the State Minister, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Elena Ardabyeva, TASS reports.

This status is assigned to those who served in special military operations in Syria since September 30, 2015, in Ukraine, the territories of the DPR and LPR since February 24, 2022, as well as in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions since September 30, 2022.

The day before, the Ministry of Defense proposed adding to the list of retired servicemen who fought against the invasion of the Russian Federation and border provocations in areas adjacent to the Special Military Operations Zone.

Earlier, Mishustin reported that Russians who ensure the implementation of special military operational tasks in the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions will receive the status of combat veterans. Fighters from the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics have already received the qualification of combat veterans, and such standards are already in effect there.
