First photo of Russian rescued after 67 days at sea appears

The first photo of Mikhail Pichugin, rescued after 67 days in the Sea of Okhotsk, has appeared. The Russians' photos were published on the Telegram channel "112".

Doctors who examined the survivor assessed his condition as stable. Pichugin's injuries were not recorded. According to experts, the man was severely dehydrated and exhausted.

The Russian was temporarily kept in intensive care to monitor his condition. The rescued man was given sedatives to help him sleep.

An earlier survivor of the Sea of Okhotsk said his brother had been in despair in recent days. He lost his teenage son during the trip.

Pichugin's younger brother and child arrived in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk from Ulan-Ude on August 4. A relative was waiting for them there. Later, we got into a Ssangyong pickup truck and headed to the port of Moskalvo in the north of the island. The group left the car, got a week's supply of food, and then set off across Sakhalin Bay to Cape Perovsky on the inflatable catamaran "Baikat 470".
