St. Petersburg ranked ninth in the ranking of regions by material well-being

In the ranking of regions by material well-being, St. Petersburg took 9th place, and the Leningrad Region – 43rd place. This became known thanks to a study by RIA Novosti.

Saint Petersburg is in the top 10 in terms of material well-being. The leaders also include the Yamalo-Nenets, Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, Magadan Oblast, Nenets and Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrugs - Yugra, Sakhalin Oblast, Murmansk Oblast, Moscow and Kamchatka Krai.

Research has shown that the level of well-being of the population is determined not only by the level of economic development, but also by many other factors, such as natural and climatic conditions, industry specialization, etc.

Thus, the leaders of the rating were the Far North and the capital, where the average income of the population was higher.

It was recently reported that the Leningrad Region ranked second in the list of the lowest unemployment rates in Russia. It was noted that the region is experiencing a labor shortage.

St. Petersburg is also planning to bring in outside experts to prepare for a labor shortage. Last May, St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov announced plans to negotiate with other Russian regions to allow teams of street cleaners to come to clean the northern capital on a first-come, first-served basis for several months.
