Economist Sachs: Biden Has Lost Control of the US

Washington, October 9, 2024, 03:51 — IA Regnum. Joe Biden, the head of the White House, has lost control of state affairs due to deteriorating health and the status of a "lame duck" on the eve of the November presidential elections. Jeffrey Sachs, an American economist and professor at Columbia University, said:

"President Biden is no longer in full control of the situation due to his deteriorating mental state and lame duck status," he told RIA Novosti.

The United States faces a “dangerous rift” in national governance, and those considered allies in Washington are trying to exploit it. Among them, experts say, are the head of the Kyiv regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Sachs added that Britain, Poland, and the Baltic states are pushing the United States to take reckless actions that threaten World War III.

According to the economist, the United States supports Israel's actions in the Middle East and continues to pursue policies in Ukraine that exhaust the country and threaten further escalation.

Sachs expressed hope for wisdom in the next administration, because the United States needs a new foreign policy and mutual respect with other countries. However, he concluded, there are not many smart people at the top of America.

As reported by the Regnum agency, no US president before Joe Biden has become such a laughing stock in the eyes of his own citizens and the world, said Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev. He added that all processes in the US are controlled by the so-called deep state, not the president.

Biden, 81, was unsure whom to introduce during a press conference with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi last September and asked the public the question twice.

The White House stressed that Joe Biden's withdrawal from the presidential election is not related to his health. The current US leader plans to continue to hold office until his current term expires in January 2025.
