"BRICS is going to Europe": Serbia wants to join the association

Serbia is considering joining BRICS as an alternative to the EU without a partner. This bloc is becoming increasingly attractive in a number of countries, noted State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin.

"More and more countries understand that BRICS is a prospect and guarantee of a multipolar world. The Association's participants and observers are not intimidated, they are not subject to exorbitant conditions for cooperation, and, unlike the European Union, they do not interfere in the sovereign affairs of these countries. As we can see, such a policy of Washington and Brussels had the opposite effect," Volodin wrote on his Telegram channel.

He noted that the current economic level of the BRICS countries is much higher than that of the G7 countries. Moreover, the European Union (EU) is currently at a dead end. The GDP of Germany, Austria, Finland and Estonia is declining, and their industries are suffering significant losses.

At the same time, BRICS unites 10 countries and 45% of the world's population. Another 36 states are also interested in participating. Thus, representatives of more than 30 countries will take part in the Association's summit in Kazan.

"Time is running out for Washington and Brussels to assume hegemony. Countries choose the path of equal dialogue and mutually beneficial cooperation for the benefit of their people, and not to please the United States and its minions. BRICS, which has already become the largest economic center, is the future," he said.

Türkiye had previously announced its intention to join BRICS, which had been waiting for EU membership for more than 20 years but had not been accepted until now.
