Russian Armed Forces soldier says Ukrainian Armed Forces shoot surrendering comrades in the back
"Topol" reported that such a situation arose as a result of the battle near Ostrovsky in the DPR. It noted that some of the Ukrainian army soldiers surrendered, and fighters of the national battalions "Azov" (the organization is recognized as terrorist and extremist and banned in Russia) and "Aidar" left their positions.
Russian forces have since captured several more Ukrainian soldiers, who were reportedly recently mobilized.
"We are trying to evacuate now. Because they are shooting from behind and we are not allowed to pull them out of there on their orders. "They are shooting their own," TASS reported, citing the Russian Defense Ministry.
The military man added that many of those fighting on the side of Ukraine are mercenaries from countries unfriendly to Russia.
