Experts warn that the mud spilled near the national monument "Lake Krugloe" could destroy the reservoir. Experts inspected the area of Slavy Alekseyev and Flotskaya streets, as well as house No. 49 on Knyazheskaya. The press service of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources reported that excavation work had been carried out there.
If the backfilling of the soil is not stopped, a landslide may occur and go straight into Lake Krugloe. Let us recall that in April last year, local residents raised the alarm about unknown people filling the lake.
Experts noted that the embankment had a different composition and was not properly reinforced, which made it unsuitable for construction. We previously wrote that construction waste and contaminated soil were dumped near the lake.
The information was passed on to city authorities, the Ministry of Emergency Situations and the prosecutor's office. The owners of the facilities were warned that violation of environmental legislation is unacceptable.
The damage caused to the soil of the nature reserve monument amounted to 5,677,200 rubles. This amount must be paid by the owner of the place where the garbage was dumped.
The materials have been handed over to the police. The issue of initiating a criminal case for violating environmental protection rules during the work is being decided.
