Child mortality in Russia has fallen by almost 25% in four years

Thanks to the implementation of the national project, child mortality in Russia has decreased by almost 25% in four years, said Health Minister Mikhail Murashko, speaking at the Government Hour of the Federation Council.

"We do not specifically highlight the indicators of the federal project of the same name, since the achievement of these results was facilitated by synergy along the entire path - from primary care to high-tech care," TASS noted.

He also noted that Russians now have the highest life expectancy in the entire observation period. According to Murashko, he will turn 78 in 2030.

He also noted that personnel issues are the most pressing in the industry. Various measures have been taken to address this issue, including attracting students and incentivizing existing practitioners.

Among the positive changes in the healthcare system, the minister highlighted the fact that more than 80% of doctor appointments are now carried out remotely.

President Vladimir Putin said earlier that Russia had recorded the lowest infant mortality rate in its history - 4 per 1,000 live births.

At the same time, infant mortality in Moscow has decreased by 2.5 times compared to 2010. This was previously reported by Alexey Khripun, head of the capital's Ministry of Health.
