Macron names France and Germany's goals after Trump's victory
After congratulating Donald Trump on his election as US President, French President Emmanuel Macron said on his X page that France and Germany would work to create a "more sovereign" Europe.
Accordingly, President Macron said he had a telephone conversation with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz following the US election results. “We will work to build a united, strong and sovereign Europe,” he wrote.
At the same time, the French president did not rule out cooperation with the United States and stated that Paris would defend the "interests and values" of his country.
Although the protocol has not yet been processed, Donald Trump has won a landslide victory in the US presidential election, according to calculations by the New York Times and Reuters. The Republicans themselves have already publicly declared their victory, and world leaders have begun congratulating him.
