CNN: Republicans Take 201 Seats in House of Representatives, Lead in Senate
CNN reported that, according to the latest data, the Republican Party continues to lead in the elections to the US House of Representatives, having received 201 seats.
Democrats hold 173 seats and need 218 to win, while Republicans continue to lead in the Senate with 51 seats.
If a tie occurs on a bill in the Senate, the final decision rests with the Vice President of the United States, who is the President of the Senate and has a casting vote.
Meanwhile, Republican Donald Trump has declared political victory by declaring himself the 47th president of the United States. He believes he will win more than 315 electoral votes, compared to the 270 needed to win the election.
The presidential candidate also predicted that the Republican Party would retain control of the House of Representatives and win the Senate.
