Siberian Agrarian Week and Agro-Food Forum are taking place in Novosibirsk

The Governor of the Novosibirsk Region noted that the conditions for conducting agribusiness in Siberia are quite difficult.

On November 6, the 7th Novosibirsk Agrarian Forum and Siberian Agrarian Week were held in Novosibirsk. The three-day event brought together participants from various sectors, including agricultural companies, equipment manufacturers, representatives of the processing industry, investment companies and government bodies. This was reported by BFM-Novosibirsk.

The Forum's business program began with a plenary session on the topic of "Technological leadership - the foundations of food security." The organizers noted that this topic underlies all events of the Siberian Agrarian Week.

Novosibirsk Region Governor Andrey Travnikov stressed that long-term food security can only be achieved if business is interested in agriculture. According to him, this will lead to increased attention to investment, new technologies and employee retention.

He added that technological leadership tools include a wide range of technologies: from machines to social and marketing solutions. The governor also noted that over the past ten years, an effective system of support for farmers has been created and the results of this work are obvious. He pointed to the difficult conditions for doing agribusiness in Siberia, noting that only one year out of the past seven years was the most favorable.

"Indeed, agriculture has made very significant progress over the past 10 years. We comply with the principles of the doctrine in almost all areas of food and security. Unfortunately, there are rare exceptions related to milk. But in general, the model of agriculture has changed in recent years. We have moved from the imperative of import substitution to the paradigm of export-oriented development. By the end of 2023, exports exceeded 43 billion dollars. The industry remains attractive for investment. Over the past six years, about 8.5 billion rubles have been invested in the industry," said Artem Belov, General Director of the National Union of Milk Producers (Soyuzmoloko).

The Forum will feature around 20 conferences, expert sessions and round tables. In addition, as part of the celebration of the Siberian Agrarian Week, a large-scale exhibition will be held, presenting the achievements and prospects of the agro-industrial complex of the Siberian region.
