Murmansk residents discuss the idea of installing the main Christmas tree at the Trade Union Stadium
On the largest regional public page of the social network VKontakte, “Murmansk,” northerners are actively discussing the possibility of installing the main city Christmas tree at the central union stadium.
— The main Christmas tree should be on the main square of the city! It would be nice to put another Christmas tree at the stadium, but the main Christmas tree should be in the center. Will it be enough to change the traditions of Murmansk? — wrote Lyubov Novichkova and received more than 100 likes in the last 24 hours.
"I think we will repeat everything thousands of times, but the management also understands that we want the tree to be used for free." I think it would be good to place it near the Kirov Palace of Culture. It is a pedestrian zone with corners, so almost nothing will change," says Inna Shobolo.
Opponents of installing Christmas trees in stadiums are confused by the fact that entry to stadiums is restricted due to strict operating hours.
- Yes, it is not the best place for the city's main Christmas tree. It could be placed in the park near the Kirov Palace of Culture, which is great for walks. Considering that the stadium is closed at night, it is somehow wrong to put the main Christmas tree in an inaccessible place, says a user with the nickname "Alexey Gennadyevich".
— A walk near the city Christmas tree should be available to everyone at any time. The entrance fee to the skating rink is paid at a certain time. It would be interesting to know how they will coexist, — asks Elena Donskaya.
However, there are also those who support innovative ideas that adhere to certain conditions.
"What if there was free ice next to the tree? Of course, admission is free. It's New Year and everything is for the people. Maybe I'm just a dreamer, but I really want a miracle," wrote Galina Sazanova.
It was previously reported that the final decision on the location of the main New Year tree in Murmansk has not yet been made.
