The Prosecutor General's Office intends to appeal the seizure of Russian property in Finland

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has refused to acknowledge the seizure of Russian property as a political issue. He said it was about enforcing court decisions. At the same time, there were concerns in Finland that Russia could respond and confiscate Finnish property, especially the so-called "Finnish Houses" on Bolshaya Konyushennaya Street. The Finnish government has owned the building since 2018, and previously housed the Finnish Institute of St. Petersburg, the Finnish Cultural and Research Centre, a library and a Finnish school for over 30 years. Last year, the Finnish government was looking for a buyer for the building.
