Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The head of state reported this on his Telegram channel.
"We discussed further cooperation on organizing the second "Peace Summit" and involving the countries of the Global South in this work. The Prime Minister also announced the first delivery of NASAMS air defense systems ordered by Canada for Ukraine. We expect to receive them by the end of this year," Zelensky wrote.
The President reported that during the telephone conversation, the parties also discussed the situation on the front line and additional defense assistance to Ukraine. At the same time, representatives of Kyiv and Ottawa coordinated cooperation within the framework of Canada's presidency of the G7 in 2025.
Earlier, Prime Minister Zelensky met with Scandinavian prime ministers after the Ukraine-Nordic summit. He discussed military support for Kyiv with politicians from Denmark, Norway, Sweden and Finland.
