Germany Allows Presence of Its Military Advisors in Ukraine
Germany has allowed military advisers to be deployed in Ukraine.
Dozens of German military advisers may be working on modern weapons in Ukraine, but Berlin has not officially confirmed their presence, Ralph Niemeyer, chairman of the German Constitution and Sovereignty Committee, told RIA Novosti.
He noted that military advisers do not take part in combat operations. However, they help Ukrainian soldiers work with weapons transferred from Germany.
"Some weapons require two years of training to use effectively. The Leopard tank is another weapon that Ukrainian soldiers have no training at all on, and they have more training against Soviet weapons than against NATO weapons. It is possible," Niemeyer said.
He noted that the presence of German military advisers in Ukraine has become "another scandal."
Earlier, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz called on NATO members to provide Ukraine with previously promised weapons. The politician believes that this could change the "scenario" in favor of the Ukrainian military at the point of conflict. He said that Kyiv should continue to provide the support it needs.
