The US assessed the possibility of normalizing relations with Russia
Normalizing relations between Russia and the United States is very difficult. Because it requires the American side to make a decision on fundamental changes. This was stated in an interview with Lenta.ru by former US Marine Corps intelligence officer Scott Ritter.
He also stressed that the outcome of the US presidential elections will not have any impact on preparations for a reset of dialogue with Russia.
Republican candidate Donald Trump is also anti-Russia and calls his statements about his intention to normalize relations "superficial."
Earlier, John Rowe, a research fellow at the Royal Institute of International Studies in London, suggested that if elected, Trump would be more negative towards Russian President Vladimir Putin because of Moscow's support for China. He said Russia would in any case seek to "limit American influence in international affairs."
