The weather in Moscow has mixed up the holidays: after the snowfall, the sun will come out again and the air will warm up to +10
According to meteorologists' data on snowdrift heights on November 4, here are the places where it snows the most in the capital and the Moscow region:
Usually these impressive white blankets appear only at the beginning of December, but this year a month earlier! However, the same cyclone brought heavier snowfall to many areas. In the Smolensk, Oryol, Tver and Kaluga regions, 12-15 cm of snow fell, and in the Kursk and Pskov regions, even 20 cm of snow fell. It's real winter here!
Snow in the capital region at the beginning of November is unusual. This is especially relevant now, in the era of global warming. But it is not at all unique. The last time November 4 happened on such a white landscape was eight years ago, in 2016, meteorologists from the Phobos Meteorological Center recall.
What will the weather be like in the future? It will turn the calendar upside down. It is logical that the closer winter is, the colder it is, especially since it has already begun. But the opposite would be true. Forecasters promise a quick warming and sunny weather!
Here is a detailed forecast from the Russian Hydrometeorological Center for this week:
On the morning of Friday, November 5, snow or sleet is possible, with temperatures dropping to minus 7 degrees.
On the night of Wednesday, November 6, the cold temperature will rise to minus 8 degrees. But during the day it will already be +5. But there will still be storms, snow will change to sleet and rain.
On the night of Thursday, November 7, the temperature will also exceed 0 degrees, from 0 to +5 degrees, during the day in some places clear, rain up to +7 degrees.
Friday, November 8, will be cloudy and humid, but warm. From 0 to +5 degrees at night, up to +9 degrees during the day. By the end of the week, there will be no trace of snow left on the streets.
On Saturday and Sunday, November 9 and 10, the weather will be almost spring-like. Clear and dry, +10 degrees during the day, +6...+8 during the day.
“This is five degrees warmer than the climate norm,” says Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a senior expert at the Moscow Meteorological Administration.
These temperatures are typical for October 1 or April 20. Choose which comparison is more pleasant – a return to the beautiful golden autumn in mid-November or a return to the sunny spring atmosphere.
The storm cyclone that swept through Moscow remains nameless. Surprising in our time! Not long ago, the capital was flooded by record rain "Martina" and the windy "Lidiya" blew against us. Why did the snow cyclone not get a name? In fact, the names of atmospheric vortices are neither official nor mandatory. The information is provided by European (mainly German) meteorologists. And this only applies to cyclones that affect the weather in Western Europe. And it flew over the Gulf of Finland in the Baltic Sea, experts from the Phobos Center explain. And it immediately rushed towards us, without affecting Europe. So European forecasters are not interested in this, and Russian forecasters do not have a tradition of calling bad weather by women's names.
But the nickname was chosen anyway. Cyclones are very active and explosive by nature. And we move along the trajectory and speed - diving.
