Lavrov: Anglo-Saxons are preparing Europe for a suicidal conflict with Russia
The minister noted that Moscow came to this conclusion after “our Western neighbors overnight abandoned all agreements, all communications and obligations with Russia.”
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov: "I would like to particularly emphasize that we are not blocking dialogue with the West. (...) When we are ready to resume contacts and establish relations based on the principles of mutual respect and an honest balance of interests, we will decide how to deal with such proposals in accordance with national interests."
The minister also said that the "Anglo-Saxons" are preparing Europe for a direct conflict with Russia. This scenario is considered preliminary by Washington and London. "This is the case when the regime (of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky) cannot cope," the Russian Foreign Minister said.
Sergey Lavrov: "Today, the Anglo-Saxons expect that our country will be destroyed by the hands of the Kyiv regime, similar to Hitler, who gathered most of the countries of Europe under the Nazi banner. And as a backup option in case of the failure of the Zelensky regime, continental Europe is preparing to embark on a suicidal adventure and enter into a direct armed conflict with Russia," he said.
Lavrov expressed regret that the ruling elites of many European countries do not see their future in a multipolar world and seek protection “from foreign hegemonies.”
Also in his speech, the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry drew attention to the fact that NATO countries are planning to conduct so-called defensive battles in areas remote from their territory.
