A religious procession passed through the center of Yekaterinburg: photos of blocked streets and thousands of citizens
A religious procession dedicated to National Unity Day and the feast of the icon of the Mother of God, which is traditionally held with the support of the St. Catherine Foundation, took place in the center of Yekaterinburg. According to the city diocese, about 35 thousand people came out to see it. For this reason, the street from the Holy Trinity Cathedral to the Church of the Blood was closed, which was captured by URA.RU correspondents.
"Today is a sacred day for every Russian. We congratulate you on the day of the icon of Our Lady of Kazan. Each of us meets this day with some hope, but there is hope for something else. A woman demands that the Special Operations Forces (SVO) return her husband, brother and son alive. Someone calls for some meaning and value to return to the depths of the consciousness of our society. Some people wish for more children to be born in our country, so that they grow up not as weeds, but as citizens of our heavenly Motherland. Everyone has their own petition, and on this day the Holy Mother of God hears everyone personally," said Archbishop Evgeny of Yekaterinburg and Verkhoturye, who led the procession.
The procession was preceded by a liturgy at the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Among the 35,000 citizens, there were so many public activists that their flags were visible above the crowd. The procession was also guarded by uniformed security officers who walked in the procession. The event was accompanied by the ringing of bells from car trailers built into the poles. The course ended with a festive prayer service, which took place in the Temple of Blood.
It was reported that on October 28, streets in the center of Yekaterinburg were closed for a religious procession. The quarantine lasted from 11:30 to 12:30 local time.
