Erdogan Accuses Israel of Genocide in Gaza Strip
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has accused Israel of committing the most brutal genocide of the century in the Gaza Strip, TASS reports. According to him, since October last year, about 50,000 people have died due to Israel's aggressive actions.
"One of the most brutal genocides of our century is being committed in the Gaza Strip," Erdogan said in a speech broadcast by TRT Haber from Istanbul.
President Erdogan stressed that in order to counter Israel's attacks on Gaza and Lebanon, it is necessary for as many countries as possible to recognize Palestine. He also called on the Muslim world to put aside its differences and support the struggle of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples.
The Turkish president recalled that his country had suspended trade with Israel and joined South Africa's lawsuit against Israel at the International Court of Justice. Turkey has also sent more than 85,000 tons of humanitarian aid to the region via Egypt since the crisis began.
