В Японии остановили перезапущенную АЭС «Онагава» из-за проблем с оборудованием
Tohoku Electric Power reported that the second power unit of the Onagawa nuclear power plant, which started operation for the first time in 13.5 years, was shut down after six days, RIA Novosti reports.
The company explained that the device changing neutrons in the reactor stopped working. Because of this, the management decided to stop the reactor for preventive maintenance and to establish the cause of the accident.
Onagawa Unit 2 restarted on October 29, 13.5 years after the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11, 2011. It is the first reactor of the same type as the stricken Fukushima Daiichi plant to restart after the accident. Following the tsunami, Onagawa residents lost their off-site power supply and their underground buildings were flooded. However, there was no emergency involving the reactor itself that triggered the accident at Fukushima Unit 1.
Last October, Japan approved the continued operation of Unit 1 of the Takahama nuclear power plant, which began operation in November 1974.
