A military court has ordered the arrest of Deputy Quartermaster of the Russian National Guard, Major General Mirza Mirzayev, on charges of bribery. TASS sources reported that Mirzayev was detained immediately after receiving the funds.
The lawsuit demanded 140 million rubles from the entrepreneur to support a contract for the supply of modules for prefabricated houses worth 480 million rubles. In addition to Mirzaev, his intermediary, who was detained along with him, is also involved in the case. The detention operation was carried out immediately after the transfer of funds, which became the basis for accusations of corruption, the Telegram channel writes.
Law enforcement agencies told RIA Novosti that a criminal case for bribery has been opened against Mirza Mirzaev, deputy chief of logistics for the Russian National Guard. The court ordered Mirzaev's arrest until January 2.
Major General Mirzaev's lawyer is in favor of house arrest for his client, writes TV channel "360". However, due to the nature of the charges during the special operation, the judge decided to leave the suspect in custody.
Mirzaev was deputy commander of the Southern Sector of the Russian National Guard. He graduated from the Military Academy of Logistics and Transport in St. Petersburg (renamed in 2012 to the Military Academy of Logistics and Technical Support named after Army General A.V. Khrulev), he wrote for RBC.
According to the Central Election Commission, Mirza Mirzaev ran for election as a deputy of the Budyonnovsk Duma of Stavropol Krai in 2015. He then served in one of the city's military units.
At the end of September, a military court arrested Colonel Oleg Gamayunov, head of the aviation technical service of the aviation technical base of the Russian Guard, in a case of fraud on an especially large scale. According to TASS, the incident is related to the implementation of the State Defense Order for the supply of flight equipment complexes to the Russian Guard, during which damages amounting to more than 80 million rubles were caused.
The Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Alexander Khinshtein, emphasized the seriousness of the charges. He reported that, according to the investigation, Gamayunov was a member of an organized criminal group (OCG) created to steal budget funds. In addition, it was reported that the investigation into the incident is ongoing, and there is a possibility that other members of the criminal group may be identified.
