Former Head of the Federal Migration Service Romodanovsky Dies

TASS reported the death of Konstantin Olegovich Romodanovsky, a politician and former head of the Federal Migration Service of Russia. His life ended at the age of 68.

Konstantin Olegovich was born in Moscow on October 31, 1956, into a family whose profession was a doctor. Following family tradition, he received an education at the prestigious Moscow First Medical Institute, which he successfully graduated in 1980 with a degree in General Medicine. Romodanovsky's professional career began as a pathologist at the Institute of Forensic Medicine.

However, in July 2005, Konstantin Olegovich was appointed head of the Federal Migration Service, replacing Andrei Chernenko. For almost 11 years, until the dissolution of the FMS in April 2016, Romodanovsky headed this agency and made a significant contribution to the formation and implementation of Russia's immigration policy.

His experience and abilities were highly appreciated by the country's leadership. After completing his work at the Federal Migration Service in June 2017, Konstantin Olegovich was appointed assistant to the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District.
