Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the BRICS summit in Kazan from October 22 to 24, according to official statements from the foreign ministries of India and China.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry reported: “Chairman Xi Jinping plans to visit Kazan at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.”
Accordingly, the Indian side said that Prime Minister Modi's visit to Russia will take place on October 22-23. "This summit will provide a valuable opportunity to assess the progress of the initiatives taken by BRICS and identify potential areas for future cooperation," the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said.
It was previously reported that UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan was scheduled to arrive in Russia on October 21 to participate in the BRICS summit.
