In addition, Russian Railways plans to increase locomotive crews' wages from November 1. Hourly rates will be increased by 20 percent for traction bureaus providing freight and passenger locomotive services, and by 15 percent for high-speed transport bureaus and central bureaus of multiple unit rolling stock. Electric and diesel trains, including Sapsan and Orlan, Lastochka and Finisty.

In addition, Russian Railways has decided to increase the amount of compensation for housing rent for locomotive crew employees from 70% to 100%. This bill affects both existing and new employees. Scholarships for trainee driver assistants will also be increased. From November 1, it will increase by another 25% and by another 16% from January 1, 2025.
