In Crimea, the FSB detained a Ukrainian woman for spying for the SBU

A Ukrainian citizen living in the Kherson region was detained in Crimea. She provided the SBU with information about Russian troops, in particular about their location, the investigation found.

The FSB reported the arrest of a Ukrainian woman who, according to the intelligence service, provided the SBU with information about the deployment of Russian troops, especially in the Kherson region.

The girl said that she joined the Telegram channel "on the recommendation of friends." In November last year, a post was published on this Telegram channel asking for "information on specific areas, locations and equipment." "I took the initiative to eliminate the positions of Russian troops and residential buildings," she said.

A case was opened against her under Article 276 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Espionage"). According to the article, she could face up to 20 years in prison. She was sent to a pretrial detention center.
