St. Petersburg tops the list of popular destinations for romantic New Year holidays
Saint Petersburg tops the list of the most popular Russian cities for a romantic winter holiday. A quarter of couples chose the northern capital. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to data from the OneTwoTrip service.
Moscow took second place in every fifth period. The city of Sochi closes the top three with 10% of bookings.
More than half (58%) of couples planned a vacation lasting from four to seven days. They mainly choose four-star hotels with an average room rate of 11,000 rubles per night.
53% of couples chose a romantic holiday abroad, which is 40 percentage points more than a year ago. In most cases, lovers stay in four-star hotels, but the average cost is already 15,000 rubles.
The leaders are Dubai and Pattaya, where 5% of tourists will go together. The next most popular regions are Istanbul and Minsk (4% each).
