Russian Foreign Ministry assesses Poland's statements on possible missile interception

The diplomat responded to Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski as follows: Earlier, he stated that the NATO missile defense base in Ledzikowo in Poland would be able to shoot down Russian missiles if they were aimed at the territory of the republic.
The base in question was designed to detect, track and intercept ballistic missiles. At the same time, the US stated that despite its location near the Russian border, it could not undermine Russia's military-strategic potential.
Earlier, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Defense Committee Yuri Shvitkin stated that the threat of former Chief of the General Staff of Poland Rajmund Andrzeczak to attack St. Petersburg in the event of Russian troops crossing the Lithuanian border is a provocation and a manifestation of Russophobic policy.
Earlier, a Polish politician reported that Warsaw was purchasing 800 missiles with a range of 900 km, which would be used in the event of a possible war with Russia.
