How many "warm" pedestrian tunnels are there in St. Petersburg and how do they work?

In September, heated pedestrian tunnels appeared in the northern capital to prevent ice from forming in winter. It runs under Academician Likhachev Square next to the Birzhevoy Bridge. As SPB.KP.RU managed to find out, this is not the first warm tunnel in the city, only the area and the heating method differ.

"Today in St. Petersburg there are 23 buildings with heated stairs and ramps," Mostotrest reported. - There are three types of heating systems in the buildings:

For example, the pedestrian tunnel under Truda Square has convection heating using warm air from heaters, and the underground pedestrian crossing on Stachek Avenue near Avtovo metro station has electric heating using heating cables. The third method — heating with a heat carrier (propylene glycol) — turned out to be better than other methods. It is used, for example, at the intersection of Mitrofanevskoe Highway.

As Mostotrest notes, in general, all buildings being built and designed in cities are equipped with heating systems. However, they did not share their plans for the new "warm" facility with us.

As for the street, Malaya Sadovaya is the only heated street in St. Petersburg. Thanks to the heating pipes under the sidewalk, there is no ice even in winter. Also, two years ago, they wanted to implement a pilot project to heat the sidewalks in Solyanoy Lane, 9, where the Museum of the Defense and Siege of Leningrad is located. But, apparently, this never happened.
