"Not worth regretting": Pozdnyakov commented to Life.ru on the decision to resign as head of the ROC
Chairman of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) Stanislav Pozdnyakov said that he will resign without regret. In a conversation with Life.ru correspondent Alexander Yunashev, he emphasized that he always does his job with pleasure.
“You know, I’ve always worked with pleasure,” said Pozdnyakov, “and in this situation there’s nothing to regret.”
Not long ago, four-time Olympic fencing champion Pozdnyakov announced his intention to step down as chairman of the ROC after early elections in December. The 51-year-old has been president of the Russian Olympic Committee since 2018, replacing Alexander Zhukov.
