The State Duma has adopted in the first reading a bill banning public propaganda of childfree people

The State Duma approved in the first reading a proposal to ban public propaganda against the movement for children's freedom. This was reported by State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin in the official Telegram channel.

The project was supported by 388 delegates. This will complement six other federal laws that specifically prohibit the propaganda of pedophilia and LGBT (this movement is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation).

"We continue to form a unified legal field for the protection of children, family and traditional values. It is important to protect people, especially the younger generation, from the ideology directed against births on the Internet, in the media and cinema. And advertising," Volodin's publication says.

After the law is adopted, individuals who encourage children to behave freely will be fined up to 400 thousand rubles, government officials up to 800 thousand rubles, and legal entities up to 5 million rubles.

Volodin emphasized that this is propaganda. He emphasized that women decide for themselves whether to have children or not and who to consult with about this. At the same time, he concluded, it is forbidden to put pressure on women when they decide to have children.

The bill on fines of up to 5 million rubles for propaganda without children was introduced to the State Duma on September 25. The initiative was prepared by a group of deputies and senators headed by Volodin and the Chairperson of the Federation Council Valentina Matviyenko.

After this, the State Duma speaker warned legislators against ill-considered plans, including the introduction of a tax on childlessness. He called on society "not to be afraid." At the same time, Volodin emphasized that it is worth adopting regulations to combat propaganda against childbearing, because the family must be protected.
